Know God's Will!
Friday's Devotion (1-2-04)
"For all that is in the
world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life,
is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the
lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." 1 John
2:16-17 (KJV)
If you live
worldly and not godly, you will perish. These scriptures tell us that the things
of this world, will pass away, but he that does the will of God, will abide
forever! If you want life eternal, you must be doing the will of God. The first
and most important thing that God, wants you to do is to believe in Jesus
Christ.
One thing, I like to stress is this: We need to read our Bibles to know the true
will of God. I've had situations where I thought God, would want me to do one
thing, but the Bible teaches to do a different thing. If we listen to our flesh
and not the Word of God, we will not inherit everlasting life. The point of
today's devotion is to ask you, "Are you doing God's will? Are you going to
abide forever?" I fall short on doing God's will, but I keep trying. We all fall
short, but we need to keep trying to do His will. Get in the Word of God and
learn God's will for your life! Many followers are still lost, because they
don't know God's will. They don't know His will, because they don't know His
Word! Some followers just know about John 3:16, if they're lucky, but who
doesn't know that much? Just knowing John 3:16 and nothing else, won't save you!
The sad thing is many don't even know about John 3:16. People go to church on
Sunday, but if you ask them for a scripture on Monday, they say, "A Scripture?
What's that?" That's why it's important to read your Bibles outside of the
church too.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive
those who've wronged, us. Thank you for this message and for everything. Please
bring us close to you and help us to know your will. Help us to also do your
will, so we may abide forever. In Jesus, name. A-men!
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
