Is My Sin, Worse Than Yours?
Saturday's Devotion (8-9-03)
"Therefore thou art
inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest
another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them
which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which
do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?"
Romans 2:1-3 (KJV)
This is why we
shouldn't judge others. I'm no better than you and your no better than me, we
all sin. If I lied and then told you, that you're a liar. I am condemning
myself, because I know lies are wrong, because I judge you for it, but yet I
lied myself. I would actually be more in the wrong than you, because I'd be a
hypocrite, to judge you for a sin that I committed too. For what judgment, we
give we are judged. If you don't want to be judged, do not judge others. This
kind of goes with my other devotion, "Do
Unto Others, As You Would Have Done Unto You!" Being a tale bearer,
is almost just like judging others. Because if I pass a rumor about you and say,
"That person, stole from the store." Am I not judging and being tale bearer? The
thing we must remember is: We're all sinners and we all fall short of the glory
of God. With that said, what right do we have to judge another? Since all of
human nature, sins who can judge another, except the Lord? Only the Holy
Trinity, is without sin. Even if you don't commit a sin, that someone else did
or least you think you don't, you shouldn't judge them for it. The reason is
because, all sin is the same to God. All sin, that is not repented of separates
us from God. We're all guilty of the same sin, that sin is separating ourselves
from God, with other sins. Sin is sin, it's all the same. Fornication, is one
with theft and murder and so on. Sin is one and comes in many different forms.
Sin equals death and destruction. All sins have the same purpose. What can you
tell me if I'm a murderer and your an alcoholic? If I killed someone and you're
an alcoholic how can you judge me? both sins, lead to the same thing and that
thing is death! With that said, is your sin any less of a sin, than mine? A
white lie, can get you into Hell, just as much as murder can! What matters is if
we repent (Turn from our sins and ask forgiveness, from God.) Another thing is
how can we condemn one with our judgment, if God, has already justified them?
When one repents, they're justified by God. Their sin is no more! One thing I
can say, is someone who never repents and never comes to the Lord, will go to
Hell. However, I say that because the Bible says it. I can't say that the person
going to Hell, did worse things than me. The only thing I did better than them,
was to accept Christ and become forgiven of my sins. I hope you, strongly
consider today's message and apply it to your life. I still have a problem with
judging others, but I have to get over it. I seen a message on the internet that
really made me angry. It was someone judging overweight people. I try not to
judge the overweight, because some do have problems that make them that way. So,
if I seen an overweight person and said they're fat because they eat Twinkies,
I'd be ignorant. I'd be ignorant because that person, could have a sickness that
makes them that way. They could eat less than me, but still be overweight. I
could be eating more Twinkies, than them and they may not eat any. So, lets not
give ignorance and judgment a place in our lives anymore. When we judge, God,
probably says, "Who are they, to judge? They're sinners, too!"
Prayer: Dear Father, in Heaven. We come to you and ask for forgiveness. Forgive
us, for the times we've judged others. Forgive us, for being ignorant too.
Please just forgive us of all our sins and we forgive those who've wronged us.
Make us into your image and help us not to judge and be ignorant. In Jesus,
name. A-men!
God bless!
