Sunday's Devotion (8-3-03)
"And also that every man
should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it [is] the gift of
God." Ecclesiastes 3:13 (KJV)
If you have a job,
you should be very thankful. It is a gift of God, to have a job and to be able
to enjoy earning a living and putting food on the table. It's very rewarding to
be able to support your family and yourself. It makes you feel good about
yourself and you feel useful. I don't feel too important sometimes, because I
can't find a job. I've searched and searched for jobs in California, but can't
find any. Even though, I don't have a job at the moment, we find a way to make
it. We're actually doing pretty well. So, we still have a lot to be thankful
for. However, there are others out there with no jobs and they're not making it.
They have no financial help and they're either not making it or barely making
it. Their children are starving and they feel horrible and helpless. So, if you
have a job and food on the table, thank God, right now. You may even complain
sometimes, because you can't have all the things you want, because you don't
make enough. You shouldn't complain, because you have a roof over your head and
food on the table. Be content, with what you have and give thanks always.
Sometimes when we have family and all the essentials to get by on, we aren't
happy. We aren't happy because we overlook what we do have. We have the Lord, we
have family, friends, roofs over our heads and food on the table. If you've been
being hard on yourself, because you can only afford the basics, now's the time
to feel good about yourself. Feel good about yourself, for what you do have and
be content. Also, if you want more you must trust the Lord, for it. You can't do
it yourself, none of us can. It is the Lord, that blesses us. Not only do we
need to trust Him, in our hearts, but we need to trust Him, outwardly too. We
need to show the Lord, that we fully trust Him. To do this, we must take a step
of faith. We need to give to people who are more needy, than us. I'm not going
to ask you, to donate to this ministry. What I'm asking you, to do is to go find
a charity or a needy person and give. Give to them as you would give to the
Lord. Give to them and know the Lord, will provide for you! Also, don't forget
to be content and thankful, for what you have. You need to show thanksgiving to
the Lord, to show that you're thankful. When you're thankful, for what you have,
I believe the Lord, will bless you!
Prayer: Dear Father, we come to you and ask you to forgive us of all our sins.
We also, forgive those who've wronged us. We ask that you'd help us to be
content and put praise and thanksgiving into our hearts. Put love for others in
our hearts and thank you, for everything! In Jesus, name. A-men!
God bless!
