Like Clay In The Potter's Hand!
Monday's Devotion (7-28-03)
"Then I went down to the
potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel
that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again
another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the
LORD came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter?
saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine
hand, O house of Israel." Jeremiah 18:3-6 (KJV)
These scriptures
tell us, that whatever God, wants to do with us He will do it. God, is daily
molding and shaping his children, like a vessel of clay. God, wants to perfect
us, but sometimes to get the bad parts out of clay, you must completely tear it
apart and rebuild it. When this process comes along, we're destined to go
through a lot of trials and tribulations. When the trials and tribulations come,
then comes pain. However, it's only for a while, until God, has us the way He
wants us. Once the rebuilding is done, we then reap the righteousness and fruit
of the Holy Spirit. We grow through all that and it benefits us. Don't ask me
how pain benefits anyone, but it does. It helps us to grow stronger it brings us
closer to God, because we begin to seek Him more, than ever. Not only are the
children of God, like clay, but the children of this world are as clay in God's
hand. However, they will be destroyed in His hand and will not be rebuilt. The
whole world is as clay in the potter's hand. God, can't be stopped because clay
can't rise up against it's creator (The Potter). The point of this message
today, is to tell you God, is in control. If you're a child of God, don't worry
you're in God's hands. If you're not a child of God, you can become one with a
simple prayer. We'll get to that prayer at the end of this message. I'll name a
few reasons you want to be a child of God:
1. God, loves you!
2. God, sent His Son for you.
3. If you're not with Him, you're against Him. If you're against Him, when time
comes you will be destroyed!
I think those are a few nice reasons. It's kind of like this: When you're not
with God, you're like a broken tool to a handy man. He can't use you and He has
to throw you away. We were all as broken tools, at one time, but we weren't
broken beyond repair. If you keep hearing the knock of Jesus and you don't let
Him, into your heart, you will become broken beyond repair. Once we (Followers
of Christ) accepted Christ and repented of our sins, He was able to repair us.
None of us are perfected yet, but we won't be until the day of the return of
Jesus Christ. If you're not saved and would like to be repaired before you're
beyond repairing, let's say a prayer.
Prayer: Dear Lord, we come to you right now and ask for forgiveness of all our
sins. Cleanse us with your Son's blood and we forgive all those who've wronged
us. We forgive them, because you forgive us. Mold us and shape us into your
perfect image, day by day. Make us into what you'd have us to be. Please give us
your Holy Spirit. In Jesus, name. A-men!
If you just said that prayer, see our "Free
Gift" page. The info there will help you on your way. Also, we'd like to
hear from you on our
message board.
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
