You Didn't Choose Jesus, He Chose You!

Sunday's Devotion (7-20-03)

"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you." John 15:16 (KJV)

This scripture is kind of hard to understand, if you're a new believer. How can Jesus, say, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:"? You might be thinking, "I did choose Jesus and I did choose His ways." I don't quite understand it myself, but when we choose to follow Jesus, it was pre-destined for us to do so. So, we really had no choice. God, has a perfect plan for you and nothing can stop, His plans. Let's take a look at Paul, he was going around killing Christian people, before he saw the truth and accepted it. God, could've easily said, "No, he messed up, he's not going to be my child." But no, because it was God's divine plan for Paul, to accept the truth. God, allows certain people to understand His Word. Those people that understand it, are the chosen people. We're kind of like animals, in this way: When a person goes to the pet shop, the animal doesn't pick what human he wants, but the human picks the animal. The animal, may not want to go home with you, but he has to. Because you bought him, but later on the animal, grows to love the human. God, picks us and whether or not we love Him, when He first takes us or if we don't even want to go with Him, we will be happy with our owner later on. We will grow to love Him. Once we begin to love Him, we will start bearing the peaceable fruit and righteousness of God! If you're worried that someone in your family is, unsaved, don't worry about it. Pray for them and be a light and if it's in God's divine will, they will come to the Lord. Remember, you didn't choose Jesus, He chose you!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we just come to you right now with thanksgiving. We give you thanks and praise your name, for choosing us! In Jesus, name. A-men!

Note: We're moved in our new home and we're back working on this site, sooner than expected. Thank you, for your patience and please pray for us. If you need prayer, you may submit a request .
