Be Blessed!

Friday's Devotion (7-18-03)

"Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." Matthew 12:3-12 (KJV)

Maybe you're being persecuted or you're depressed or you thirst and hunger after righteousness, but can't obtain as much as you want to have. You might say, "I'm not blessed, nothing is going my way." Well, these scriptures are good news, for you. If you follow Jesus and you're suffering you're truly blessed! The reason is this: You must first suffer, here on earth before you can inherit the Kingdom of God, with Jesus. Jesus, went through a lot of hard times on earth and all the suffering, He went through isn't even documented in the Bible. Some was left out, because the Bible, would be way too big, if it documented everything. Not only did Jesus, suffer and was persecuted, but the prophets before Him were too. Where I'm getting at is this: Where are all these people now? They're in Heaven and they're having the time or their life, before the Lord! If Jesus, God's very own Son, suffered, why wouldn't we? If you're a Christian and you're not suffering, getting persecuted or getting any kind of spiritual warfare, you're not doing something right! All we really have to do is this: Have faith, seek God, praise Him and continue in prayer! If we hunger and thirst after righteousness, the only way to get it is through prayer, Bible reading and praise. If you're suffering now or going through some kind of persecution or warfare, it might be hard for you now. However, we need to look at the big picture. Imagine what great thing, your suffering will do for you later. Ten years or so down the road, maybe sooner, you're going to be a stronger person. You could end up being a great leader or just really strong in your faith. There will be a time, when nothing can shake you! That's one of the greatest blessings, we can have here on earth! Our blessing in God's Kingdom, will be even greater! Try to be happy, when these things in these scriptures come against you! Also, pray for a pure heart, so you may see God and pray to be a peacemaker, so you can be called a child of God! Be blessed by seeking God and righteousness, then the rest will come with it! Once you seek God and follow Him whole heartedly, the rest will come! Read your Bibles and be blessed! Also, show mercy to others, so God, will give you mercy!

Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for this message and for everything. We ask for your forgiveness and we forgive those who've wronged us. We ask that you'd help us, be what you'd have us to be. Make us strong and help us to endure all our hardships and trials. In Jesus, name. A-men!

God bless!
