Baptism Of The Holy Spirit!

Monday's Devotion (6-23-03)

"For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God."  1 Corinthians 2:11-12 (KJV)

A man who doesn't have the Spirit of God (The Holy Spirit), doesn't know about spiritual things, but only worldly. If someone knows things about men, the spirit of man is in them and if they know the things of God, the Spirit of God, is in them. All true wisdom and truth, come from the Holy Spirit, we can know nothing about the spiritual world, without the Holy Spirit. There are people who believe they don't need the Holy Spirit, to be saved. But that's not true, we need the Holy Spirit, to understand God's Word, so we can follow His commandments. Also, we need God's Spirit, for guidance, truth, comfort and so much more. Without Christ, we can do nothing and if we don't have God's Spirit, we do not have Christ, they are one in the same! Every time, I start to write a devotion, I pray that the Lord, would give me wisdom through His Spirit, to do it. I think that's a very important thing to do, when you're teaching God's Word. I get worried, that I might say something that's not right on and I don't want to turn anyone away, from the Lord. If not for the Holy Spirit, I would've been off the wall on every devotion, I've ever written. The Holy Spirit, knows all things of God and without Him, we can know nothing about God! Let's say someone without the Spirit of God, tries to teach God's Word. Their teaching is either off the wall or they don't understand the scriptures and quit teaching. I just want to give the Holy Spirit, all the credit for all the good things I've done and will continue doing. I want to thank Him, for giving me the knowledge of God, to work on this site. If you understand the things of God, then take a moment and say, "Thank you, Lord! Thank you, for your Spirit!" Sometimes, we don't realize how much we need the Holy Spirit. Then we might back slide or think, we don't have the Spirit, then we realize that we're stupid without the Holy Spirit! I'm not afraid to say, "Without the Holy Spirit, I'm stupid!" Say that to yourself right now, say, "Without the Holy Spirit, I'm stupid!" Because without Him, we are stupid. We're completely ignorant to the things of God, without the Spirit of God. We can't understand the spiritual things. We might think we understand them, but we don't get the full picture or we get a totally wrong picture! I tell you the truth and if anyone thinks they're wise without the Holy Spirit, just know they aren't! There are people with college educations and they're scholars or whatever and when they talk about the Bible, I get mad. I get mad because they don't know the true meaning and they think their college education, will teach them the Word of God! The Holy Spirit, will teach you God's Word and Him only! Some school, isn't going to teach you! You can be taught by someone with the Holy Spirit, but you still need the Holy Spirit, yourself to get the full understanding. We're never going to understand everything about God, but we can know as much as our brains can comprehend, through the Holy Spirit! If you don't have the Holy Spirit or think you don't, then say this prayer.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to cleanse me of all my sins and unrighteousness and give me the Spirit of truth and wisdom! Give me your Holy Spirit. I know that I am nothing, without your Spirit. I know since I have asked, you will give me your Spirit and I thank you! In Jesus, name. A-men!

If you said that prayer, you have been baptized with the Holy Spirit! Congratulations, you just asked for the best gift, you ever could've asked for and you have received that gift! Claim that gift right now, in the name of  Jesus! Also, if you said the prayer, we'd like to hear from you on the message board!

God bless!
