Embark On A Journey Of Mercy!
Sunday's Devotion (6-22-03)
"But the mercy of
the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his
righteousness unto children's children; To such as keep his covenant, and to
those that remember his commandments to do them." Psalm 103:17-18 (KJV)
The mercy of the
Lord, lasts forever, to those who fear Him. I've mentioned in past devotions,
"To fear the Lord, is to resist evil!" These scriptures go along with that too.
Those that fear the Lord, keep His covenant and do His commandments. Notice
these scriptures say, "To
such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do
them." This is another
point, I've tried to make. The only way to remember His commandments, is to read
your bible daily! I'm sorry if you think I stretch this point too much. I really
feel this message is one of my callings. I feel strongly urged to teach the
importance of reading God's Word. Anyway, how can we have the mercy of the Lord,
if we fail to read His Word? We can't because His mercy is for those who, fear
Him and those who fear Him, follow His commandments. The only way to follow His
commandments, is to know His commandments and remember them by reading His Word,
on a daily basis. I know a lot of you come here looking for help or answers. You
come here for answers and over look the best place and that's the bible. It
would really bless me, to know at least one of you read your bible daily, due to
my messages. The Word of God, is an important part of my life and once you get
into it, it'll be an important part of yours too. Without the Word of God,
you're struggling with life's issues and you just don't know what to do. You
don't have the Lord's mercy, because you don't know His commandments to follow
them and your life is miserable! You can either be like a child who is very well
nourished and grows to be strong by reading the Word or you can be a miserable
dying child, with no hope, food or mercy! I know a lot of you don't agree with
this message, of reading the bible daily. But if you just give it a chance and
see how much you grow from it. Once you start reading the bible, you won't want
to go back to the former miserable way of living! I'm challenging all, to
embark on a journey of mercy! Start reading your bible daily, try it for six
months to a year and I guarantee a change for the better! You're going to be
much happier and have more mercy! If you do accept this challenge, it's best to
begin reading in the New Testament. The New Testament, gives us all the
commandments, that we need to live by. The Old Testament, is important too as it
teaches us more about God and shows us why we should be thankful Jesus, came.
If you accept this challenge, keep us updated and tell us if you accept. You may
either post about it on the
message board!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I ask that you'd bless those who take this
challenge. I pray that you'd reveal the truth of your Word to them and give them
ears to understand. I pray that you'd show everyone the importance of your Word.
Please forgive us of our sins and we forgive those who've done us wrong. In
Jesus, name. A-men!
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
message
board.
