Faith, Is An Action!
Friday's Devotion (6-20-03)
"He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse." Proverbs 28:27 (KJV)
This is one thing, I really believe is true. I believe in teaching, "If you give, you will have." However, if you go through life and hide your eyes from the needy, you're going to be cursed! The curse mentioned here, could be poverty, sickness or anything bad. If we give, we will not lack substance. We will not lack food, money, clothing or anything. I like to give, but I think I don't give enough. I don't really have anything to give, but that's not really an excuse. I know I'd have more, if I gave more. I know in my heart, what I'm saying is true. How can we have if we do not give? Now you might say, "How can we give if we don't have?" You have to have something, I know I said I have nothing, but I do have some things. I have clothes, food and ETC. I like to teach this, but I don't believe in teaching this for my own welfare. There are programs that teach this, but they only teach it to get you to donate to them. I don't agree with that, I'd rather you go out and donate your money to a child in need or some poor person on the streets. There are people who need the money more than me. I just want to get this word out. If you give you will have and if you don't have it's because you don't give. I know it doesn't make sense, to give and have, but it does make sense. Here's why it makes sense: When you give out of the goodness of your heart, it really blesses the Lord and makes Him, want to give to you! This also goes for our spiritual life too. If we give, we're going to be happier and more at ease. Also, you're going to have treasure in Heaven and others who give or do nothing for others, will have no treasure in Heaven. However, they will be cursed. Let's say someone came to you for water and you sent them away. A day will come, when you need water and none will bring it. However, if you give water to the thirsty, when you're thirsty, you'll have enough water to drink for the rest of your life! Giving to others, when you don't really have anything to give, is also telling God, "Hey I trust you and I know you'll provide for me!" God, is well pleased with that, but when we don't give we're saying, "Hey God, I don't have the money and I don't trust you to provide for me! I'm the one that has to provide for me!" That's a fear Satan, has a lot of us in. The fear is, if we give we won't get anything back and we'll be screwed without food or anything. That's a big lie, if we give and depend not on our own selves, we will have! The key to riches, is faith! Pretty much everything in the bible, goes back to trusting God and not ourselves! Faith isn't just saying, "I trust you God!" No, faith is an action. Faith is showing God, that you trust Him. Faith, isn't a word or a feeling, it's action! It's stepping out and proving, what you believe! Let's say you have true faith in yourself. A professional boxer challenges you to a match, now if your faith in yourself is real. You can't just say, "I believe in myself!" Then not step in the ring with that boxer! You have to truly have that faith in yourself and get in the ring! My point is, faith is an action! If you really trust God, take that step of faith. Do something good for someone else, even if it means you lose everything! Trust God! Say to him with your actions, "I trust you!"
God bless!
