Choose Your Own Fate, Before It's Too Late!

Saturday's Devotion (6-14-03

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." 1 John 2:15-17 (KJV)

These scriptures aren't telling us not to love people in the world, but it's telling us not to love the world. Why shouldn't we love the world? These scriptures answer that very question as well. "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." If you love the world, you love the things of the world and the things of the world are not of God! This world, is a very wicked and deceiving place. If we live after the things of this world, we will die after the things of this world. Life doesn't come from the world, it comes from God. God, has offered us life through His own Son's blood and we have a choice. That choice is to either take the life or take death, by following the things of this crooked and perverse world. All that is in the world is sin and sin reaps death. If you're living after the things of this world, when the world passes away, so will you! Don't think of passing away as eternal sleep, that would be too good for people who live after the world. When I say, pass away here, I mean eternal Hell fire and punishment! However, if you do the will of God, through Christ Jesus, you will live forever in eternal joy! Let's say I live after the things of the world. I lust after money, women and ETC. I just do whatever I want and think everything's grand! But when I die, what will happen? Eternal Hell fire and everlasting punishment, for my evil deeds! That's what would happen. Everlasting punishment, over a few measly years of trash on earth! Are the things of this world, really worth everlasting punishment? I think not! However, if I live in God's will and do the things of God, I'll reap good. If I pray, read my bible, believe in Jesus and follow His commandments, I'll have everlasting joy! That's a small price to pay, for such wonderful things! So, we have a choice, we can live like children of the world and reap the death of the world or we can live like children of God and reap the life of God! Which one do you want? You need to choose your own fate, right now before it's too late! If you're not saved or if you're back slidden, God, wants to welcome you into His family, right now! All you have to do is say a prayer and follow His commandments, which are in the Bible! Let's say a prayer, if you'd like to be saved. Maybe you're already saved, but feel you need to say the prayer again.

Prayer: Dear Father, in Heaven, I thank you for giving me this opportunity. I know that you're calling me to be your child, by adoption. Please give me your Spirit, Father and make me your child. I am a sinner and I believe Christ died, rose again and descended up to Heaven and now sits on the right hand of God, for my sins. I ask you to forgive me of my sins as I forgive those who've wronged me. In Jesus, name A-men!
