Make Satan, Run!

Tuesday's Devotion (6-3-03)

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7 (KJV)

Submit yourselves to God. To submit yourself to God, you must stay in His Word and do His commandments, which are written in His Word. Resist the devil, by resisting evil and not partaking in sin. We all sin, but if you know something is a sin, don't do it. Because when you do it, it will open the doors for Satan. He's going to come in and start saying, "Look at you, you call yourself a Christian? You just blew it!" Another way to resist the devil, is to avoid debating with him. When he's telling you lies, the first thing he wants you to do is debate with him. Trust me on that, I've been in debates with the devil and you can't win in these debates. Why can't you win? Because Satan, has more experience and he's a liar! The more you debate with him the more he'll attack you. He will take scriptures out of context, to make you feel condemned. When he does this we need to start quoting scriptures, that contradict Satan's lies. When Jesus, was being tempted by Satan, Satan, would lie to Him and He'd quote scripture. After quoting scriptures, the devil ran. He seen where Jesus, stood and probably thought to himself, "There ain't no foolin' this guy!" He'll always come back to attack again, but every time we must stand our ground. Also, once you sin don't give Satan, any openings repent immediately. Even once you repent, he'll attack you for it, but you can say, "It is written if you confess your sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Don't let Satan, know he's getting to you either. Just start worshipping and thanking God, this will leave Satan, stunned. He'll think, "What? How can this person worship God, in the midst of my attack?" I'm sure that frustrates him so much, it makes him want to run! We also need to remain in prayer and sing praise. If you submit yourself to God and resist Satan, he will flee! It might take some time some times, but he'll eventually give up. Everything Satan, does or says has some kind of lie in it. The truth is not in Satan, so whatever he says, we must ignore. Nothing he says can be taken seriously! Even if he's using a scripture against you, he's most likely using it out of context. He's not showing you the full truth. He'll use scriptures like the one that says, "If you offend one of these little ones, it were better for you to have a millstone tied around your neck and to be cast into the sea." But he won't tell you this, once you repent from any of your sins, you are forgiven! Fear and the feeling of condemnation is not of God! That's the feelings of Satan, so if it's from Satan, what is it? It's a lie! The ones that are condemned aren't worried about it. They aren't worried, because Satan, makes them think everything's ok. When I first heard what I just said, I felt condemned so let me explain. If you're following the Lord and you aren't worried about your salvation, you're ok because you're following God. However the ones I'm talking about are the ones who think everything's ok and don't follow God! So don't let Satan, take what I just said out of context. He did that to me, when I heard this. Satan, will you make you think it's ok not to read God's Word. But it's not ok. It's not ok because if you don't read God's Word, you're open to being deceived. You can learn a lot about Satan, from Satan's people from the way they act. For example the people of Satan's that are dangerous are the ones who twist scripture. They do this either because they're blinded or just to condemn people who are open to it. Just like you can learn about God, by seeing how His people act. It works the same way with Satan and his people. It's good to know Satan's tactics and ways, because that way you can know for sure, he's nothing, but a liar. Once you fully grasp the concept of Satan, being a liar you won't fall for his tricks. Also once you fully know the truth of God's Word, you can't be fooled. If you take your walk with God, seriously then read the Bible daily! Because if you take it that seriously, you don't want to be deceived! You want to be right with God, when you die that's what it's all about, being with the Lord, forever! I hope today's message has helped you.

Prayer: Dear Lord, please teach us to resist the devil. Help us not to fall for his tricks and lies. Please forgive us our sins and we forgive those who have done us wrong. Also Father, we ask you to release your people from the lies of Satan! Thank you, for hearing us. In Jesus, name. A-men!

God bless!
