Beautiful Feet!

Tuesday's Devotion (5-27-03)

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:13-15 (KJV)

I had a friend, who I found out, was a Christian. I went through life not knowing how to have a relationship with God, I thought everything was fine. Anyway, this person who was my friend, knew about the Gospel and didn't tell me. How could I call upon the name of the Lord, if no one told me about Him? You know what my friend's excuse was when I asked, "Why didn't you tell me?" He said, "You never asked." How can I ask, when I don't know to ask? I knew him for a couple of years or so and all that time he kept it from me. I couldn't tell by his actions that he was different, because he did the same things as me. He really was no different. The other day I said, "The best way you can preach God's love, is through your actions." But if you're no different than anyone else, how can you do that? Not only that, but sometimes we need to preach the Gospel with our mouths. Let's say you see someone dying, you need to preach to them. We can't keep our mouths shut. This is serious. If I would've never met my wife and never heard the Gospel and died in a car wreck or ETC, I'd be in Hell, right now. All because my friend didn't tell me. I'm not complaining or anything that he didn't tell me, I'm just using him as an example. There are too many Christians, who keep their mouths shut. Not only do they keep their mouths shut, but they're bad witnesses too. How can anyone know you're different if you keep your mouth shut and fit in with the world? If you're just like the rest of the world you might as well keep your mouth shut anyway, because you're going to be a bad witness. That's just my opinion. If you can't go around the world and preach the Gospel, you can send people to do it. With your money you can send others. Everything is so easy now a days, that you have no excuse. There are programs like the 700 club, you can donate to and they go and preach the Gospel. The feet of them that preach the Gospel, are beautiful, because they came and gave a good message. They walked up to someone on those two feet and gave them hope. Are you keeping your mouth shut and your light turned off? You need to do something with what God, has given you. Offer what God, gave you to someone else.

God bless!
