Spread God's Love!

Monday's Devotion (5-26-03)

"Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away." Matthew 5:42 (KJV)

If someone is in need and wants to borrow from you, don't turn them away. Even if you don't get along with that person, unless you really don't have what someone is asking for, give it to them. But even if you don't have it, try to do something for that person. Let's say someone who's thirsty asks for water and your water is turned off. What do you do? You can give them something from your refrigerator, if you have some kind of drink in there. We need to go out of our way for others and show the love of God. We need to stop making excuses and saying, "Well, I really didn't have any water." When you have juice, soda or something, you could give. How can we show the love of God, if we don't give? We really can't because if we look at what God, does, we'll notice that He gives and gives. He gave His Son and we can't even give a few bucks. Sometimes we ask for something and God, gives us something completely different. He gives us something different, because what we asked for wasn't right for us. My point is when people ask you for something, give them what you can. Even if you think it'll take from the last of your supply. Trust that God, will provide for you and give. Give, like God, has given to you. One neat thing is if you give out of the kindness of your heart and expect nothing back, God, will give you more. If you give money you'll have money, if you give food you'll have food and so on. You can even offer the same gift God, offered you. That gift is eternal salvation. You can give someone the Gospel of Christ. You can give a lot of things, even if it's just an encouraging word to a broken hearted person. Spread God's love, by giving love.
