Lose Your Life To Save It!
Wednesday's Devotion (5-21-03)
"Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it." Luke 17:33 (KJV)
I personally think
this scripture is talking about the last days. People will be left behind and
God's people will be taken home. The people left behind will still have a choice
to follow God, but they'll have to die for Christ's sake. If they don't die for
Christ's sake they'll have to get the mark of the beast and if they get that,
they simply go to Hell. Therefore if we're still here after Jesus, takes His
people, we'll have to lose our life to save it. The people that get the mark of
the beast, deny Jesus and they'll pay for it. They may get a few extra years on
earth, but they lose life eternal with our Lord. This goes for other situations
too. Let's say someone is holding a gun to your head and they say, "Deny your
God and I'll let you live!" What do you do? Do you deny God or do you die for
your God? Well, if you seek to save your life, you'll lose it eternally, but if
you die you will live forever! This is something we need to prepare ourselves
for, we never know what will happen. Christ, died for us and if we have to die
for Him, we really should. There's a scripture that says, we will be delivered
up and beaten for Christ's sake. I was just telling my family last night, that
if it comes down to that, we shouldn't run or hide from it. We should take it
just like Jesus, did. Jesus, was delivered up for us and so the scriptures would
be fulfilled, so we must do the same, if we have to. I don't mean to scare
anyone, I just want you all to be prepared. Let's pray about this.
Dear Lord, we come to you and ask you to give us courage. Give us strength and
your grace to die for you or get beaten, if we have to. We ask for your
forgiveness and we ask that you forgive those who have done us wrong. We pray
that we won't have to die for you, but we would be taken up into the clouds with
you. In Jesus, name. A-men!
I hope today's message has helped prepare God's people. Have courage and strength, because you're a warrior, for Christ!
God bless!
