Love In Deed and In Truth!

Saturday's Devotion (5-17-03)

"But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." 1 John 3:17-18 (KJV)

If we see someone in need and have what they need, we should give it to them. If we don't give it them we're not loving in deed and in truth. How can we have the love of God, if we don't help others when we can? If we have a coat and a homeless man is freezing to death, we should give him our coat. We should give it to him, because we have a home to go to and he could freeze to death. We could even help the homeless man, get to a shelter or something. This is how we display the love of God. This shows others that we're different too and it pleases God. If a man comes to your home and is dying of thirst, surely you could give him water. If you turn that man away he could die. What does it hurt us, to help a fellow man? Are we afraid the guy might dirty one of our cups? Is that a good reason to let a man die? No, there really is no good reason! We should be more considerate and willing to help. If every Christian, displayed the love of God, imagine how much better things would be. Also, if we want to be successful and live more comfortable, we need to give. We must give to receive. If we bless others God, will bless us. I believe that the way we manage our money now, shows whether or not we'll have more of it later on. For example if we give money to charities, homeless and ETC now, we'll have more later. But if we don't give a dime to the needy, we will become needy. Why would God, bless us if we don't bless others? But we shouldn't give to receive, we should give out of love. We should expect nothing back. You can start helping by helping me to help children. If you join this program under me for free, all of my commissions will go to the Save The Children Foundation. They only give $1.50 for each new sign up, but that'll help a child in need. Here's the link: Click Here!
