To Be A Child!

Friday's Devotion (5-16-03)

"And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:2-4 (KJV)

What does this mean to be converted into a child? Let's examine these scriptures, it's pretty simple. Notice Jesus, called the child to Him and the child came, without question. If we humble ourselves like the little child, we will enter God's Kingdom. Most little children when they go to school, they listen to their teachers. The Holy Spirit, is our teacher and minister, we need to do as He says. This is what it means to be as a little child, to be humble and listen to God. We shouldn't examine situations we're in. We need to just listen to and trust God. If we want to be great in the Kingdom of God, we must do as God's word and Spirit, tell us to do. Now if we hear a voice that goes against scripture, that is not the Holy Spirit and don't listen. We hear of murderers and ETC saying, "God, told me to kill that person." God, doesn't tell us to sin or kill anyone. If something tells us to commit a sin, don't listen. Other than that if it goes along with scripture and it's not sinful, then you know it's the Spirit and do as He says. This is why it's important to know God's Word. Someone who knows and reads God's Word, would know the Spirit's voice. Like little children going to school, start studying, because you will have a test. A test is going to come and those who don't know the Word, will fail! So, to be a child is to listen and do as Jesus, says. To know what He said, get in the Word!
