We're Blessed!
Wednesday's Devotion (5-14-03)
"Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." John 20:29 (KJV)
We're really
blessed people, because we believe and have not seen Him. People saw Jesus, back
when He was on the earth and yet believed not. But we've never seen Jesus and we
believe, that's a blessing in itself. Our reward in Heaven, will be really
great. Imagine how happy God, is because we believe and have not seen. Because
we believe without seeing, one day we will see Him. We will see Him and be full
of joy and we will share in His glory. This is just one of the many blessings we
get for believing without seeing. We're able to ask God and receive things that
we need, because we believe. There really is nothing those who believe can't do,
through Him. I think one reason we're more blessed, than the people who seen
Him, is because it's hard to believe sometimes. It's hard to believe when you're
being tempted not to believe. It's hard because we didn't see Him. He knows how
hard it is for humans to believe in someone they've never seen and that's one
reason it pleases Him, when we believe. We really shouldn't doubt that He came,
died and rose again for our sins though. We shouldn't doubt because it's
documented in the Bible. Just like Abraham Lincoln, is documented in history
books. We have no doubts that Abraham Lincoln, existed. Why should we doubt that
Jesus, exists? Is not the Bible our history book? If we're going to doubt Jesus,
we need to doubt Abraham Lincoln, too. Jesus, is a reality. There should be
absolutely no doubt, that He exists. If we don't doubt it, we will be blessed!
He promises us blessings for believing without seeing! Let's say a prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father, we believe in your Son Jesus, even though we haven't seen
Him. We ask you to forgive us for every doubt we've ever had and to take our
doubts away. We thank you for sending your Son and ask for the blessing promised
to those who believe without seeing. In Jesus, name. A-men!
God bless!
