Don't Worry About Tomorrow!
Sunday's Devotion (5-11-03)
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matthew 6:34-35 (KJV)
Seek the Kingdom
of God and His righteousness and those things will be added to you. If we seek
those things first, we will receive them. What are you seeking first? We must
seek His Kingdom and His righteousness first. If we're whole heartedly seeking
those things we will get them. The part that says, "Take therefore no thought
for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." is telling us not to worry about
tomorrow. Why would it say that? We have so many problems. We have to pay the
bills tomorrow and we don't have the money. Why shouldn't we worry? Because if
we worry, we're doubting God's ability. If we worry we're in fear and we're not
trusting God. So don't worry about tomorrow or today for that matter, trust God.
If we trust God, we don't have to worry about anything. We're going to
constantly run into problems and if we spend our life worrying about them and
not trusting God, we're going to destroy ourselves. Without Christ, we can do
nothing! If we keep trying to solve our own problems, we will never get out of
them! Let's stop worrying about tomorrow and start seeking provision from God.
Sometimes we have a problem of thinking that we're bothering God, with our
problems. But God, wants us to come to Him with our cares. You might say, "Why
would God, want us to bring our problems to Him? That's silly!" The reason He
wants us to is because He loves us. If you have someone that you really love,
you want that person to bring their problems to you. You want them to because
you care and want to help. That's not the only reason He wants us to come to
Him. He wants us to come to Him because He wants to make us happy and it
glorifies His name, to do so. I had a really bad stomach problem almost two
years ago. Every time I ate it would hurt so bad. One night it hurt so bad that
it finally got me to pray about it. Right when I got done praying the pain was
gone and it never came back! That tells me that our problems are no problem to
Him. I couldn't get rid of that pain. I was taking meds and they didn't work. I
ask God and right away He heals me. So don't feel bad taking your problems to
Him, because they aren't problems to Him. If I would've took my problem to Him
right away, I would've had a lot less pain. But we shouldn't just come to Him
when we have a problem, but all the time. If we don't come to God, all the time
then He'll allow a lot more problems in our lives. He'll allow them because He
wants us to come to Him.
Dear Father in Heaven, we come to you with our problems right now. We realize
that our problems are no problem to you. You have the ability to take care of
all our needs. We ask you to do so. We also ask you to help us not to worry
about tomorrow. Help us to seek your Kingdom and righteousness first, so they
might be added to us. Also, I pray that you'd use this site to help others and
bless them. I pray that this site would glorify your name. Thank you, Lord. In
Jesus, name. A-men!
God bless!
