Anointed Teaching

Thursday's Devotion (5-8-03)

"But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." 1 John 2:27 (KJV)

If you have the Lord's anointing as a Minister or teacher of God's word, you don't need any man to teach you. Why is that? Because the anointing within you, teaches you. We're anointed and taught by the Holy Spirit and His anointing is no lie, it's truth. If we're truly anointed by God, we don't need to go to other teachers. I learn a lot off of my own teachings. I learn so much because it's not me, but the anointing and the Holy Spirit, of the Lord. I've grown so much off of my own teachings. But I truly believe if you want the anointing to teach God's word, you need to read His word daily. Even if you do read His word daily, this doesn't guarantee His anointing for you to teach His word. He may want you to do something else to glorify Him. I think the part that says, "even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." I think that means even though, we're anointed and taught we still need to abide in His word. Because in John it says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." So, to abide in God, is to abide in the Word of God. They're one in the same. The Word of God, is truth. So to be anointed, we must read God's word. God's Word and His Holy Spirit, are our teachers. They minister to us and we get anointed through them. So, if you want the Lord's anointing get and stay in the Word!
