Wait On The Lord!
Saturday's Devotion (5-3-03)
"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." Psalm 27:14 (KJV)
Sometimes when
we're in a tough trial, we have to wait to be delivered. When I say, "wait" I
mean not a little wait of five minutes or even a day, but months or even years.
It's not that the Lord, can't deliver us immediately, but it's because He
doesn't want to. He doesn't want to because He wants us, to learn something and
grow in our relationship with Him. He let's us suffer, because He loves us. I
know that sounds weird and it's hard to swallow sometimes, but it's true. If we
went through life with no problems, when one came up we'd be devastated and our
problem would overwhelm us. No matter how long it takes for the Lord, to deliver
us, we need to wait and trust. We need to be of good courage. If we're of good
courage, our hearts will be strengthened. But if we fear, we will get ourselves
in a dangerous place. With fear, comes doubt and with doubt comes unanswered
prayers. We wear ourselves down with all this fear, doubt and stress we put on
ourselves. We need to trust and wait on the Lord and I know that sounds easy.
Once we get in that frame of mind, where we fear it can be very hard to trust
God. We need to remember that God, is faithful He will always be there to help
us. When God, is for us, who can be against us? I've been to quite a few
internet sites, lately and I've notice a lot of Christians are under attack by
the enemy, right now. I know this is nothing new, but there are several people
going through the same things I am, at the same time. Satan, is desperate to
destroy God's people. Now is not a time to start doubting and fearing. We need
to be strong and we need to be united. No matter what the situation, let's trust
God. Let's say a prayer together for all of God's children.
Dear Father, we come to you and ask you to keep all of your children safe. We
ask you to get us through this difficult time and help us to trust and wait on
you. Deliver us from evil and temptation, but do it in your timing. We thank
you, for hearing this prayer. In Jesus, name. A-men!
Now we must believe this prayer and wait for it to be answered.
God bless!
