Are You A Friend Of Jesus'?
Wednesday's Devotion (4-30-03)
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you." John 15:13-15 (KJV)
Jesus, says, that
we're not His servants, but His friends. We're His friends, if we follow His
commandments. Do you want to be Jesus' friend? If so, do you follow His
commandments? Do you read the Bible to even know His commandments? Do you pray
daily? Those are four questions, I want you to ask yourselves right now. If you
said yes to all four questions, you're doing well and He's truly your friend. He
says we're His friends because someone wouldn't let their servant, know their
plans. Jesus, told us everything His Father, taught Him. Not only that, but does
a master lay down His life for His servants?
We're not called to serve Jesus, but we're called to be His friends. We do
things that the Lord, wants us to out of love for a friend and He does things
for us, for the same reason. So, if you're not yet a friend of Jesus, it's
rather simple to become one. All you really need to do is accept Him, pray
daily, follow His commandments and know His commandments, by reading the Bible.
Say this prayer with me:
Dear Lord, I know I'm a sinner and I ask you to forgive me of all my sins. I
want you to come into my heart and be my friend and savior. Help me to be your
friend and keep me on the right path. I know I could never have a better friend
than you, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for
his friends." Thank you, Lord. In Jesus', name. A-men!
