Be Humble

Thursday's Devotion (4-24-03)

"Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off." Psalm 138:6 (KJV)

If you want to get anywhere with the Lord, you must humble yourselves. He doesn't like it when we're puffed up with pride. What do we have to be proud of anyway? We're just humans, who sin. He is God and can do anything He wants. He can cast us a way, into the pits of Hell. We have no power when it comes to what God, is going to do. So we need to stay humble, because if we don't we won't get anywhere. If someone came to you, all proud and puffed up and said, "Give me some money!" Would you give it to them? I wouldn't, but if they came humbled and said, "Hey man, can I have some money? I would appreciate it." I would give it to them, if I had it. The Lord, is the same way, if we order Him to do something, He most likely won't do it. But if we come to Him humble and ask Him, He will help us. Let's not be proud and act like we're the ones in charge. Let us remember God, is in charge! God, has the power and compared to Him, we aren't even an ant. God, doesn't see us like that, because He loves us, but we need to be humble.
