Who Knows?

Wednesday's Devotion (4-23-03)

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up." Matthew 25:42-43 (KJV)

People speculate all the time about when Jesus, will return for His bride. We're His bride and when He comes back He's coming to take us home. But let me tell you, no matter how well of an explanation someone gives you, on when Jesus, will return don't write the day they're saying it will happen on your calendars. Because this scripture says, "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." This scripture goes for everyone, no one knows when Jesus, shall return. We should be ready for His coming all the time, we shouldn't let our guards down. The reason I believe He doesn't let us know when His return will be is this. He wants to see who will be faithful to Him all the time and not just when they think He's coming. Just like the man in this scripture if he would've known when the thief was coming, he would've just got ready for the thief the last minute. Just like if we knew when Jesus, was coming we'd live a sinful life and then when it was the minute before His return we'd say, "He's coming let's repent from our sins!" It doesn't work like that, this is why no man knows the hour of His coming! Who knows, when Jesus, is coming? No one! Don't take anyone's guess either, because no man knows and I don't believe a man could guess it either! Let's just be ready for His coming all the time. We don't know when, but we know it's going to happen! Only God, knows when Jesus, will return. Not even Jesus, will know when He's coming, so why would anyone else?
