Don't Be Afraid
Tuesday's Devotion (4-22-03)
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:26-27 (KJV)
The Holy Spirit or
Holy Ghost, is our comforter and guide. He teaches us all things and brings the
Lord's word to remembrance. Jesus, says, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I
give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you." He gives us true peace
through the power of the Holy Spirit! We need not to be afraid, because the Holy
Spirit, is not a spirit of fear, but a Spirit of love and a sound mind. The Holy
Spirit, comforts us and directs our paths, so why be afraid? The Spirit knows
what He's doing when he tells us to do something.
When we hear from Him, we should just do as He says. But we first must know that
it's Him, talking to us. Remember if the voice inside goes against the
scriptures, it's not the Spirit of the Lord. It's not the Holy Spirit and don't
listen. But if it's instructing you. to do good then do it. Like if you have an
urge to sing praise, help a fellow man or just do anything that goes a long with
the Word of God, then listen. But when fear comes in and you start feeling
condemned, that's not the Holy Spirit and rebuke those thoughts and feelings.
Don't listen to them if they condemn you. Sometimes the Holy Spirit, will
correct us and Satan, will take that correction and make us feel condemned. We
need to listen to the correction, but we shouldn't take it as being condemned.
The Lord, corrects us in a loving manner, because He wants us to be right with
Him. Don't fear if you're a child of God.
God bless!
