Easter Day

Sunday's Devotion (4-20-03)

"Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it." Acts 2:23-24 (KJV)

Today is the day, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He was raised from the dead to free us from death. Death couldn't hold such a perfect man, like Jesus. He had no sin, yet He took the whole world's sin. He was tortured on the cross, for us. He did all this out of love and still He didn't complain, but when we go through something not half as bad, we complain. We act like what Jesus, did was small potatoes to what we're going through. He had nails driven through His hands and feet. Studies have found that He was beaten with a whip that had a sharp metal object on it, that just tore His skin apart. Before He got on that cross it wasn't easy for Him either. He was hated by the whole world in which He came to save. How would you like to save a drowning man and then that man turn around and say, "Don't touch me, get lost! Who asked you to save me anyway?" We really shouldn't complain, if we look at what Jesus, went through. He went through so much more than this, but these are just a few things. We need to keep this in mind and not lose sight of His sufferings for us.

God bless!
