Why Our Prayers Are Unanswered!
Saturday's Devotion (4-19-03)
"If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." John 15:7 (KJV)
This is a promise from Jesus, himself! If Christ, lives in us and his words (you can find these in the Bible) live in us, you can ask God, for what you will and you will receive it! There are three keys to getting your prayer answered. First, you must have the Spirit of Christ, living in you. That's the Holy Spirit. Second, you must have the living Word of God in you. Most of you have accepted Jesus, if you're here so that's not a problem. But if you're prayers aren't being answered let me ask you, do you read your Bible? Do you read it daily, so you can know it well? Our enemy the Devil, is looking for people who are following Christ and don't know the scriptures well enough. He's looking for these people, so he can turn them into the wrong direction. Take my word for that and don't feel bad or condemned if you don't read the Bible daily, I didn't used to. All you can do is start reading it daily now and forget about all the times you didn't. The third key to getting your prayers answered is this, when you pray do you doubt? If you doubt, you blow it! He will not answer your prayers, if you doubt His ability to do so! I've been having a problem with doubt and it's something everyone goes through sometimes. But when you're in that frame of mind it's hard to get out of it. Even Jesus' own disciples doubted and they saw Him! So, this is something all Christians will come up against. We must pray hard and not stay in that state of mind. Read His Word and cling onto this scripture! Also when you have faith, read the Bible and have the Spirit of Christ, in you, He still may not answer your prayer right a way. He does everything in His timing, so let's keep the faith!
God bless!
