God Forgives and Forgets
Tuesday's Devotion (4-15-03)
"For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." Hebrews 8:12 (KJV)
The Lord, is merciful, not only does he forgive us our sins, but he forgets them. Sometimes we have a hang up on forgetting our sins and moving on. We think because we sinned we're not forgiven. Many Christian soldiers in war right now, are thinking "How can God, forgive me. I've killed people in combat?" The Lord, will forgive them and forget all about it, if they ask and I'm sure they do. The Lord, understands war, in the Old Testament, he sent his own to war. He did it because the opposing countries, were not following him. Also, because the enemy wanted to do harm to his people. Saddam Hussein and his regime want to kill us and they don't worship God. What the American soldiers are doing, is protecting their own. They're doing the right thing and will be forgiven. Someone might say, "That's great for the soldiers, they have a reason, but what about my sin?" As long as you turn from your sins and ask for forgiveness, you're forgiven. AS long as you believe on who God, sent that's Jesus Christ, you're forgiven. When Jesus, was on the cross the man next to him was a murderer. That man was being crucified too, but he believed Jesus, was the son of God. He asked Jesus, to remember him and Jesus, said, "Today thou shalt be with me, in Paradise!" He forgave that murderer, surely he can forgive you. Just keep believing and when you sin, ask for forgiveness and turn from your sins. Now that you know God, has forgiven you, if you asked, forgive yourself.
