God Doesn't Tempt Anyone!

Sunday's Devotion (4-13-03)

"Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed." James 1:13-14 (KJV)

If you're being tempted don't fool yourself and think God, is tempting you. God, can't be tempted and He doesn't tempt anyone. Know that the one tempting you, is far from being God. God, doesn't tempt us, but He allows Satan, to tempt us. But he allows Satan, to do this because He wants to strengthen us. He wants us to ready for anything that hits us. View my devotional called "Victory Over Temptation" in the devotion archives. What I'm about to say, goes with what I said in that devotional. We can be tempted, but we can't be defeated by our temptation. God, doesn't allow the temptation of Satan, to go too far. Satan, is very limited on what he can do to God's children. Jesus, took on the full power of Satan, on the cross. He did that for us, so we wouldn't have to face that. If Satan, could have his way with us completely, we'd be in trouble. We can't defeat Satan, on our own. We need the power of the Holy Spirit, to fight him for us. If we had to do this ourselves, we'd be in poor shape. God, has already made a way of escape for us, before our temptations or trials even start. He knows everything Satan, plans to do and He knows when it'll happen. He is God and He's in complete control! Remember in the old testament, with the prophets? How they could see the future, that was the Holy Spirit, revealing the future to them. Now the Holy Spirit, is the Spirit of God, don't you think he can prophesy your future too and control it, before it happens?
