The Revelation of Christ

Sunday (3-5-06)

To know Christ you must read your bible. To be spiritual fed with food so you can grow with the correct knowledge and be prepared. 2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and for ever. Amen. When the day comes and your time is up, you will stand before God. Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

To grow and be prepared is only part of it though. To have a purpose in life, a reason for living and hope, you must read your bible to know what these things are. Did you know that God talks to us through His Word? God’s Word not only teaches us, but gives us strength, hope, promises, peace and joy.

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

This is during happy/good times and during sad/hard times. God has a plan for each and everyone of us. Until you turn your life over to God, your life will never be complete. It will always be missing something. You’ll always feel like what you have isn’t quite enough, so you try and feel it with a little more. Reality check, it never will be quite enough no matter how rich, powerful or famous. Jesus is the only fulfillment to what everyone is searching for. He is that missing link in your life. Jhn 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Jhn 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Recently I’ve been reading in the book of Revelation. This book covers a time in the past, present and the future. Why do so many stay clear of this book with fear and ignorance, while there are some with such offensive misguided teachings that miss quote and miss interpret the scriptures? I don’t understand everything in the bible, but this book is just as important and inspired as the rest of the bible.

Rev 1:3 Blessed [is] he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time [is] at hand.

When reading any portion of the bible you should come before the throne of God in prayer, asking Jesus the Son of God for understanding, guidance, direction, comfort, and blessings. Jesus is your bridge and connection to God our Father. The Son of God died in our place to bear all our sins because this was the only way for man to be forgiven and to have that connection to God.

Jhn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

But, you must confess (in your heart-with all sincerity, and with your mouth-to announce your connection with Jesus Christ and that He is your Salvation and your new way of life). That on your own, you fall short, because of your sins (sins passed down through generations of mankind, sins that you’ve done all on your own [since your birth] such as: hate, lies, greed, false gods; money, materialism, worshiping idols or images, adultery or fornication etc.). We must ask in prayer to be renewed in the spirit of God, repenting of all our errors, ask Jesus to wash us [me/you] in His blood and make us [me/you] white as snow. Meaning He will forgive us [me/you] all that we [me/you] confess to Him. God will make it as if it has never happened and it will be wiped clean from His book. Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, [so] far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

We all will have to answer to God in the final judgment day. The blood of Jesus has the cleansing power to wash us till we are clean without spot or blemish, covering our sins.

Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Jesus is the only way in, and he will get those of us in by God’s mercy and grace. That believing by faith that Jesus is the only way you can be saved. You can come daily (and often as needed) before the Lord [enter into His presence] and repent by confessing [speaking to God] and repent by turning away from that sin [not continuing in that sin]. That is true repentance. Then Jesus wants to have a relationship with him. Praising, confessing, requesting, and opening up your heart to Jesus, on a daily basis. Just repent and ask God to strengthen you, to change your heart, to take away those sinful desires, and replace them with the desires of Jesus [to be Christ like]. Don’t give up, but continue to seek the Lord. You will grow in His love, and grow closer to Jesus. You can be that child of God that the Lord intended you to be. You can bring strength, encouragement to others as well as peace, joy, strength and encouragement in your own life. That is one of the many ways Jesus uses us and causes it to be a self changing blessing.

So talk to the Lord. Read your bible and come to Jesus in prayer to confess and share the depths of your heart. You will get to know Jesus and to experience Him in your life. There are promises that are available to all Christians [a child of God] - are saved through the salvation of Jesus Christ. If you are a Christian in despair or unsaved and want deliverance, go to the source which is Christ Jesus, because there is hope for you in Jesus. Find a place of fellowship where other true Christians gather. There is strength in fellowship. God wants the best for his children, and he doesn’t want any to perish. God loves you so much that he sent his Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins, so that we could be saved and live eternally.
